Wyatt and I went on a week long trip to San Diego. It had been a year since we were down there. We stayed at my dad's house the night before so he could take us to the airport at 4:30 in the morning! yikes! Everything went smoothly at PDX. We even got to go through the express line and Wyatt got a TSA badge for taking off his own shoes and going through the metal detector on his own. We got down there just in time for a crazy heat wave. I lived there for two years but I don't remember it being that hot. Anyways, my mom didn't have a kiddie pool so she just got out some storage containers instead. It was pretty funny.

Tori and Wyatt were two peas in a pod. They played very well together. Nathan was gone for the first few days we were there, so it was just the two of them. My mom and I took a trip to IKEA to play house while Heather was teaching. Tori was an excellent realtor showing off each room. They took turns 'owning' each room. We even tested out most of the dining room tables. The next day the duo decided to do a duet on the piano.

A few blocks away is a really fun park. I think we were there at least once every day.

Even the walk to the park is pretty!

On Sunday Heather took Wyatt, Tori and I on an adventure. We rode the Trolley. This was all Wyatt wanted to do while he was in San Diego. We bought an all day pass and rode all the way to the border. On the way back both kids fell asleep and missed a very loud domestic dispute. Three hours later we were ready to be off....and to get a shower! I didn't bring my camera on the adventure. :(
On Monday everyone left for school so Wyatt and I were a little lost on what to do. But my mom was home by lunch time and we headed to La Jolla for my favorite taco shop, Porkyland. The name scared me off for a while. But, once you have one of their tortillas you'll be hooked. mmmm. We stopped at La Jolla shores for a quick 'toes in the sand' moment. Later I went with Heather to the yoga class she teaches. I've taken aerobics classes from her, but never yoga. She does really good. I liked that I didn't have to see her because she explained each pose really well. I was surprisingly sweaty afterwards. Tuesday morning Nate got back. My mom didn't have class until the evening so we decided to go back to the beach. This time to my favorite beach, Torrey Pines. First we stopped at Elijahs for breakfast. And I'm sure this is no suprise, but it's my favorite! Plus they have outdoor seating and didn't seem to mind that my child was running around like crazy. Nate taught Wyatt to body surf. Pretty amazing, acutally. We got back and hosed everyone down. Then I got to go to my mom's yoga class. She had us focus on our feet, which is something I almost never do. When the feet were in the right spot the poses were a lot easier. And by easier I mean I didn't fall over as much, I was still sweating and feeling every pose.

Then our last full day was Nate's birthday. He's really into this show called Bakugan. The whole thing flies over my head....even after four episodes and two rounds of his game. I had to read the instructions for the game three times before it sort of made sense. But, we had a good time. He won one and suprisingly I won the next round. I think he may have let me win. :) We went out to the mini trampoline to take some sweet action shots. Then he wanted to go to Denny's for lunch. It has been years since I have been to a Denny's so I was suprised at the new menu. With so many choices I ended up getting eggs and toast. Next we headed to Macy's where Nate picked out what he wanted because I was totally clueless what to get him. Then we were back in time for his Bakugan party at the park. Heather had got pizza and squirt guns. An amazing combination for an eight-year old party. There was potato sack races and the craziest Darth Vador pinata.

This was a maple syrup cheers to the man with the pancake beard.

And then it was time to come home. We had to fly to Seattle first with a hour layover. So for a hour I had to hear "mom, where's Attle?" I would explain that we were in the city of Seattle, not going to see anyone named Attle, only to hear two minutes later "mom, where's Attle?" We had got Luke a spiderman cape that Wyatt wore on the way home as he fell asleep in the car. I guess even spiderman needs a nap sometimes.
